Cliffy B (Gears of War creator) said that Gears of War 2 (GOW 2) will be a game that is “bigger, badder, and more badass” than the first series. And although GOW 2 is better in some aspects when compared to the first, but I never felt what Cliffy B said it. For GOW 3 I was not expecting much, just that of course I was curious how the final story of the Delta team adventure. Maybe because I do not get your hopes up here, GOW 3 actually looks much nicer than the previous series. The storyline and the end of GOW series is quite satisfactory (although still leave many questions), seem much more polished graphics with lighting effects are spectacular, and the gameplay is still full of action, fun, and even sometimes become very complicated (especially if you play four people at once).
I am particularly pleased with the wide selection of new weapons supplied. The new weapons seem very “badass”. For example, there is a new minigun named Vulcan, who despite having destroyed a very large power, but will be moved by two people simultaneously. Then there Digger, a grenade launcher with the ability to “dig” the soil, oneshot, a new weapon that can kill almost any enemy with one shot only, and the coolest is the silverback, a mecha equipped with gatling gun, grenade launcher, and can be changed a turret.
Indeed, there are a lot of gameplay is not changed from GOW 3 (at least for its campaign mode), but various small additions here and there makes it still feel fresh. If there’s one thing I complain about is the co-op mode four people who can not be played in split screen. Split screen is limited to a maximum of two people only.
